Celebrating 95 years since Uncle Ho first arrived in Petrograd

On May 17th 2018, in Saint Petersburg (Russian Federation), a solemn ceremony was organised to celebrate 95 years since Uncle Ho first arrived in Petrograd (Saint Petersburg’s former name).
Attending the ceremony were: Mr. Nguyễn Thiện Nhân – Member of PolitBuro, Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee, Leader of the Delegation of National Assembly in HCMC; Mr. Huỳnh Thành Đạt – Member of Party’s Central Committee, Director of National University in HCMC; Madam Thân Thị Thư – Member of Standing Committee of HCMC Party’s Committee, Leader of Propaganda and Training Department under HCMC Party’s Committee; Mr. Lê Thanh Liêm – Member of Standing Committee of HCMC Party’s Committee, First Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee; Mr. Ngô Đức Mạnh – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Russia.
Russian delegates attending were: Mr. G. Poltavchenko – Governor of Saint Petersburg; Mr. V.M. Korolev – Admiral, Chief Commander of the Russian Navy; Mr. N.M. Kropachev – Headmaster of Saint Petersburg University.
Giving a speech at the Ceremony, Mr. G. Poltavchenko – Governor of Saint Petersburg emphasized the importance of commemorating 95 years since President Ho Chi Minh first came to Petrograd for its meaningful implication about the history of the two countries, two peoples. He then reviewed some highlights in the relationship between the two countries in general and between the two cities in particular over the past years and pointed out more potential cooperation opportunities that should be fully taken up in the coming future.
From FOSCO, Mr. Ngo Anh Tuan – Secretary of FOSCO Party’s Committee & Chairman of FOSCO Board of Members joined the Delegation of HCMC National Assembly to attend the ceremony.
