On the evening of July 8, 2022, Service Company to Foreign Missions (FOSCO) hosted “The Reception for Foreign Missions Representatives” on the occasion of the 43rd Anniversary of the founding of FOSCO (July 9, 1979 – July 9, 2022).
Attending the event were Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Member of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee; Mr Ngo Phuong Nghi, Deputy Director General of Service Department for Diplomatic Corps, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Mr. Dang Khac Chat, Deputy Director General of External Security Affairs, Consular General, officials of consular agencies, representatives of international organizations, non-governmental organizations, foreign economic representative offices in Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of different Foreign Affairs Departments of 20 provinces/cities of in the South of Vietnam in collaboration with FOSCO in the management of Vietnamese employees working for foreign organizations.
Madam Le Thi Hong Hau, Secretary of FOSCO Party Committee, Chairwoman of FOSCO Board of Members said: “No matter what organizational models FOSCO operates under or what difficulties, challenges FOSCO encounters with, including the heaviest impact of Covid-19 pandemic in 2021, FOSCO has together overcome difficulties and challenges and accomplished many achievements in fulfilling the missions assigned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, providing services to Consular Corps, International Organisations, NGOs, Foreign Economic Offices”. She also expressed her gratitude to leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their close attention and guidance in recent years; Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Service Center for Da Nang Foreign Affairs, focal management agencies of local employees working in 19 Southern provinces/cities, different departments who have cooperated tightly with FOSCO in fulfilling the political duty and diplomatic security duty; The Consular Corps in HCMC, International Organizations, Non-governmental Organizations, Economic Representative Offices for their trust in FOSCO and collaboration in providing services.
On behalf of the Consular Corps, Mr. Kho Ngee Seng Roy – Consul General of the Republic of Singapore and Dean of Consular Corps to Ho Chi Minh City said: “Other than the Singapore Consulate, I am sure my colleagues from the Consular Corp would too have liaised or sought the assistance from FOSCO in handling many of these services I have just mentioned; Besides these services, FOSCO also frequently organize social events and recreational activities to provide an avenue for networking amongst the consular corp and FOSCO members. The most recent recreational activity being the FOSCO Tennis Championship event which will be taking place tomorrow. I wish all the best to the participants of the Tennis Championship eventFor us from the Singapore Consulate office, we have engaged FOSCO services in many areas. Chairwoman Mrs Hau and her staff from FOSCO have been very approachable, helpful and responsive on many occasions when we needed assistance or advice, especially on matter that require their urgent assistance.”
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Vo Van Hoan, Member of Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of FOSCO’s leaders and employees. FOSCO has made efforts and strives to complete all the missions well. In 2021, FOSCO’s contribution to Ho Chi Minh City’s budget exceeded the plan by 117.12%. Through providing the labor supplying service, FOSCO has ensured the legal rights and interests of 5,000 Vietnamese employees working for more than 600 foreign organizations and individuals in terms of salary, social insurance, Income Tax; providing free policy and legal advice to employees working for foreign organizations and individuals in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to maintaining security, social order and safety in perform Income Tax; providing free consultation on policies and laws for employees working for foreign organizations and individuals in Ho Chi Minh City, contributing to maintaining social security and safety in performing the diplomatic missions in Ho Chi Minh City. He also expressed his belief in FOSCO’s capacity as an experienced company in providing services to Consular Corps, international organizations, NGOs, foreign economic representative offices, FOSCO will be able to complete the criteria set out in 2022 and the service quality is improved, meeting the needs of foreign organizations and individuals in Ho Chi Minh City. He also committed that leaders of Ho Chi Minh City will continue to direct FOSCO to overcome difficulties for the benefit of FOSCO’s customers and the development of FOSCO in particular and Ho Chi Minh City in general.
The Reception attracted more than 120 representatives from Consular Corps, International organizations, NGOs, foreign economic representative offices and guests from Ha Noi, Da Nang and 20 Southern Provinces/Cities. The guests enjoyed a special musical performance by students of FOSCO International School, FOSCO staff and an amazing traditional Vietnamese musical instrument performance.
