Literacy month is a time to encourage students to go to the library, pick up a good book and explore new worlds.  We like to promote reading as it is conducive to acquiring new vocabulary, improving analytic thinking, writing skills and expanding ones knowledge about the world.  Here at FOSCO we seek to make Literacy Month fun for the students to enjoy.
On March 1, 2019, FOSCO International School had its annual Literacy Month parade.  Some students and staff came to school dressed in their favorite book character which made it fun and exciting for students to take part in.  They announced winners for best author projects, book covers, craft and best readers in each class.  Subsequently, they had a contest for best costume.
Throughout the week, they had a myriad of activities to encourage reading.  These activities include extra library time, book trackers, FAHASA book fair and book related assignments for each class (author project, book cover, crafts).
