FOSCO Leaders attended the US 241st Independence Day’s Celebration

On the evening of June 08 at Gem Center, Mr. Ho Trong Tri, Deputy General Director of FOSCO, attended and offered congratulations to the US 241st Independence Day’s Celebration (July 04, 1776 – July 04, 2017) organised by the Consulate General of the United States of America in HCMC.
After the Vietnamese and US flags salutation ceremony, Madam Mary Tarnowka, Consul General of the USA to HCMC shared that this celebration is her first one in HCMC. In her opening remarks, she emphasized the relationship between Vietnam and the USA in many fields including bilateral trade, import-export, education, immigrants and senior-level visits from both sides.
Following Madam Consul’s speech was Ambassador Ted Osius’s which talked about the meaning of the US Independence Day (July 04) to the US citizens, which “ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other” (the first Vice President and second President of the United States in 1776).
Giving a speech after Ambassador Ted Osius, Mr. Le Thanh Liem, First Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee, extended to the Ambassador, Madam Consul General and all of the US citizens many congratulations on their 241st Independence Day’s celebration. Last March, HCMC and San Francisco organised the 22nd anniversary of the friendship and cooperationship between the two cities. “Smart Cities will soon become the highlights in the relationship between HCMC and the USA”, Mr. Le Thanh Liem emphasized.
