HCMC celebrated the National Day September 2nd 2017

On the occasion of the 72^nd anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2^nd 1945/2017), on the evening of August 31^st HCMC Party’s Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Committee of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front organized a reception for celebrating.

Giving the opening remarks, Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyễn Thành Phong emphasized that over the past 72 years the Vietnamese people have always unified as one with a strong spirit, have been brave and determined, overcame many obstacles and made sacrifices to protect their independence, their freedom, to protect the country’s one whole territory and successfully implemented changes. From being a poor country, destroyed by wars, Vietnam has become a developing middle-income country with growing reputation world-wide. Up to date, Vietnam has established diplomatic relations with 187 countries, has good relationships in economics, trade and investment with more than 224 countries and nation-states.
Being the economic center, the key port for international exchanges, HCMC Party’s Committee, Authorities and citizens are always being proactive, trying their best to successfully accomplish the growth targets as given. Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyễn Thành Phong confirmed that the City authorities and citizens will continue giving their best efforts to make HCMC become the city with good living quality, being modern yet romantic; soon to become the big center of economics, finance, trade, science and technology of South-East Asia.
Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyễn Thành Phong expressed the hope that Consular offices, International organizations, businesses and NGOs in HCMC will continue giving supports and tight cooperations with HCMC on the way to develop, and contribute to the Vietnam’s course of becoming an industrialized and modernized country.
On behalf of the Heads of different Consular offices in HCMC, Consul General of Singapore to HCMC and Head of the Consular Corps in HCMC Madam Leow Siu Lin said that Vietnam is a dynamic country and has a good position in the international margin, being the member of 70 different organizations in the area and world-wide. Besides, as hub of economics, trade, tourism and education of the country, HCMC has become the top destination for businesses and attracted a lot of international investors.
Madam Leow Siu Lin confirmed that, all Consular offices, International organizations, businesses and NGOs in HCMC will continue working with the City authorities and provide supports so as for HCMC to achieve the growth targets given, to develop further and higher.
On the occasion of the 72^nd anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Head of Consular Corps in HCMC Madam Leow Siu Lin expressed the wishes that the Vietnamese Government and people have good health, happiness, peace, prosperity and success.
