Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong visited Vietnam

In the afternoon of March 21, Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and Spouse visited Vietnam and started the four-day work visit.

Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee Nguyễn Thành Phong extended the warmest welcome to Singaporean Prime Minister, emphasized that Vietnam always forces enhancing and broadening the cooperative relations with Singapore both in bilateral and multilateral relationship, especially in the economic field.
Singapore is the biggest investor in HCMC with 930 projects, accounting for more than USD 10 billion. Many Singaporean corporations and companies have grown attachment and contributed positively to HCMC’s economic development.
However, Mr. Nguyễn Thành Phong suggested to the Singaporean Prime Minister that the business comunity should do more researches, implementing one project the size and meaning of which can become iconic, showing the good relationship between the 2 countries, which is worth the number one position of Singapore as the biggest investor in HCMC.
Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong thanked HCMC Leaders for the warm welcome and favourable reception. He said: "It’s my pleasure to visit HCMC again. The first time I came here was 10 years ago, on the occasion of celebrating the anniversary of inauguration of Vietnam - Singapore Industrial zone. This industrial zone has come to settle and been effective for 21 years while the good relationship between the two countries has been developed non-stop".
