FOSCO Leader attended the 56th Anniversary of the Independence of the State of Kuwait and 26th Anniversary of the Liberation of the State of Kuwait

On the evening of the 23rd of February 2017, Mr. Hồ Trọng Trí - Deputy General Director of FOSCO attended and gave flowers to the celebration of the 56th Anniversary of the Independence of the State of Kuwait and 26th Anniversary of the Liberation of the State of Kuwait organised by the Consulate General of the State of Kuwait in HCMC.
Giving the Opening Remarks, Mr. Khaled Al-Mutairi - Consul General of the State of Kuwait to HCMC stated, the relationship between Kuwait and Vietnam has developed non-stop since the two countries started establishing the diplomatic relationship in 1976, especially in the areas of investment and commerce. Mr. Khaled Al-Mutairi said, Kuwait’s investment into Vietnam will increase strongly in the coming years, at the same time the country expects Vietnamese businesses to join in investment and project development in Kuwait, thus the bilateral trade processes can be enhanced.
At the celebration, Mr. Trần Vĩnh Tuyến - Vice Chairman of the HCMC People’s Committee congratulated the Kuwaiti poeple for the achievements that they have gained, stated that the cooperation between Vietnam and Kuwait has been being proactively developed in many different fields, especially in politics, economy and trade. Mr. Trần Vĩnh Tuyến believed that on the good relationship foundation between the two countries, cooperation activities between HCMC and Kuwait will grow stronger and stronger in the coming years. HCMC will stay creating the safe environment for Kuwaiti businesses to feel comfortable investing in and develop in HCMC, hoping that Kuwait will be one of the ports for HCMC’s businesses to boost trade with countries in the gulf’s area, vice and versa.
To the present, Kuwait has supported up to $172 million for many projects in the infrastructure construction and the development of the Vietnamese rural & mountainous area. Kuwait is also one of the biggest trade partners of Vietnam from the Middle-East with $184 million of trade in 2016 and it is expected to reach $ 2 billion in 2020 when the oil refinery factory Nghi Sơn and the petrochemical project venture between Vietnam and Kuwait commence.
