FOSCO Attending the Celebration of the 68th Anniversary of The Republic Day of India

On the evening of the 3rd of February 2017, Mr. Ngo Anh Tuan Chairman of FOSCO Board of Members came to attend the celebration of the 68th anniversary of The Republic Day of India (January 26, 1949 - January 26, 2017) hosted by the Consulate General of India to Hochiminh City.
In the Opening Remarks, Ms. Smita Pant, Consul General of India to HCMC, emphasized that the date referred back to 68 years ago marked the milestone in the history of the Indian people, contributing to enhancing the good diplomatic relationship between India and Vietnam, then upgrading it to comprehensive strategic partnership of today. According to Ms. Smita Pant, both countries have pushed up many activities in the fields like politics, economics, cultures, sciences and technology, etc, especially those cultural exchange activities, collaboration activities to develop the human resources, bringing about realistic benefits to the peoples of both two countries as they are in the process of building and growing economics and societies at each country. Finally, she showed the hope to reinforce the good relationship with Ho Chi Minh City, enhance even further the cultural exchange activities, business connection activities, raise collaboration programs in the fields that both countries are interested in like information technology, education, etc.
Giving many congratulations to the Republic Day of India and the achievments that the Indian people have gained, Mr. Tran Vinh Tuyen, Vice Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee, stated that Vietnam and India have many similar features in their history, culture, tradition, religion and thus we have upgraded the good diplomation relationship to comprehensive strategic partnership now. According to him, the traditional friendship between India and Vietnam, in which there is Ho Chi Minh City, have been cultivated by their leaders and peoples over the past many years, building up the trust and attachment, contributing to the cooperation in many fields, many businesses, many areas, bringing about good benefits for the peoples of both countries as they are developing.
Up to the end of 2016, India had 49 projects in HCMC, accounting for $55 million of investment capital; the total bilateral trade turnover reached nearly $900 million, increased 10% as compared to 2015.
