Celebrating Belgian King's Day 2016

For the first time in Vietnam, a “Belgian Week” was organised by Embassy of Belgium in Vietnam to celebrate the Belgian King’s Day (November 15) and 43 years of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Belgium (1973-2016). The chain of events took place all week from Novemeber 12 to 19 with many exciting cultural and social activities happening in the two big cities Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh.
Last Friday (November 18), Chairman of FOSCO Board of Members was invited to attend the Belgian King’s Day celebration at the Opera House.
At this event, the world well-known Jazz pianist Jef Neve was invited to come and play. As a true Belgian Jazz talent, he really had everyone immersed in his music with many original songs created by himself. At the end of the performance, the audience was truly surprised and deeply touched when the Vietnamese saxophonist Tran Manh Tuan appeared and harmonised into the song being played which Jev Neve had introduced before he played that he’d just learned this song a couple of days ago. The fact that “Bèo dạt – Mây trôi” (aka “Waiting for You” in the English version)_ one of the most famous traditional Vietnamese songs_ was played beautifully by both Vietnamese and Belgian artists brought about a meaningful touch for the audience attending this event.
