Service Company to Foreign Missions (FOSCO) organized The Reception for Foreign Missions Representatives on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the founding of FOSCO (July 9, 1979 - July 9, 2023)

On the evening of July 7, 2023, Service Company to Foreign Missions (FOSCO) held "The Reception for Foreign Missions Representatives on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the founding of FOSCO (July 9, 1979 - July 9, 2023)".
Attending the event were Mr. Pham Dut Diem, Deputy Director General of External Relations Department of Ho Chi Minh City; Mr. Le Cong Dung, Deputy Director General of Adminstrative and Financial Department; Mr. Ngo Phuong Nghi, Deputy Director General of the Diplomatic Corps Service Department - Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Consuls General, Consuls, Officials, Representatives of different Foreign Agencies in Ho Chi Minh City; leaders of different Foreign Affairs Departments of 20 provinces/cities of in the South of Vietnam in collaboration with FOSCO in the management of Vietnamese employees working for foreign organizations.
Madam Le Thi Hong Hau – Secretary of Party Committee, Chairwoman of Board of Members of FOSCO said: "2023 is a key year in FOSCO's strategy, production, and business plan and 5-year development investment plan (2021-2025) approved by Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee. Accordingly, FOSCO strives to implement the proposed solutions, focuses on diversifying many types of products and services to meet the needs of Consular Offices, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations and Foreign Economic Representative Offices.".  She also expressed her gratitude to the leaders of Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their attention in FOSCO and their guidance during the past time; Service Department to Diplomatic Corps, Service Center for Da Nang Foreign Affairs, Focal management agencies of local employees working in 20 Southern provinces/cities, different departments who have cooperated tightly with FOSCO in fulfilling the political duty and diplomatic security duty; All of Consular Offices in HCMC, International Organizations, Non-gorvenmental Organizations, Economic Representative Offices for their trust in FOSCO and their collaboration in providing services.
On behalf of the Consular Corps, Mr. Kho Ngee Seng Roy - Consul General of the Republic of Singapore and Dean of Consular Corps to Ho Chi Minh City said: Over many years, FOSCO has been providing a wide range of services to the Consulates, Representative Offices of International Organisations, NGOs, Economic Offices in Ho Chi Minh City. The services range from managing houses and offices for rent, filling of tax returns, social securities, medical insurance for local employees, preschool and primary school education, etc.  The Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore has also engaged FOSCO for some of these services. Besides these services, FOSCO also extends its scope to organizing sports and cultural events. He hopes that FOSCO will continue to provide the wide variety of services and at the same time explore new and innovative ways to meet the needs of foreign agencies. These could include briefings or introduction session to the new arrivals from the Consular Corp or foreign agencies on the Vietnamese culture, places of interest for recreation and the dos and donts on living in Ho Chi Minh City. This will help the new arrivals settle in quickly and operate well in Ho Chi Minh City.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr Pham Dut Diem, Deputy Director General of External Relations Department of Ho Chi Minh City highly appreciated the efforts of FOSCO’s leaders and employees over the past 44 years. Especially the admirable numbers such as tens of thousands of Vietnamese employees who have been working for foreign organizations, through FOSCO, are guaranteed that their rights and social benefits are assured to follow the Law since 1979; Land areas that Ho Chi Minh City assigns FOSCO to handle are well-managed, not only bring revenue to the City budget but also create a safe environment for the activities of the Consular Offices, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Foreign Economic Offices in Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Pham Dut also expressed his belief that with the ability as an experienced company in providing services to the Consular Corps, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Foreign Economic Representative Offices, FOSCO will be able to complete the criteria set out in 2023 in improving the service quality to meet the needs of foreign organizations and individuals in Ho Chi Minh City. He hoped that FOSCO would continue its efforts to accomplish the goals according to the 5-year Strategy concerning production and business plan and development plan (2021-2025) approved by Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
The reception attracted more than 140 representatives from the Consular Corps, International organizations, NGOs, foreign economic representative offices and guests from Ha Noi, Da Nang and 20 Southern Provinces/Cities. The guests enjoyed a special musical performance by students at FOSCO International School, FOSCO staff and an amazing traditional Vietnamese musical instrument performance.
