FOSCO Leader attends and congratulates the 229th anniversary of the National Day of France in HCMC

On the evening of July 14th 2018, FOSCO Deputy General Director Trần Tuấn Anh attended and extended congratulations to the 229th anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of France (July 14th 1789-2018) organised by Consulate General of the Republic of France in HCMC at its headquarter.
According to Consul General of the Republic of France in HCMC, Mr. Vincent Floreani, this year is a really special year for the diplomatic relationship between France and Vietnam since it marks two important milestones: 45 years of diplomatic relationship and 5 years of strategic partnership.
There are nearly 300 French businesses who have invested in Vietnam on the fields of Pharmacy, Agriculture-food, Infrastructure and High-technology. There are about 9,000 French who are living and working in HCMC. Within 5 years, there have been around 2,000 French - Vietnamese weddings. The number of marriage registrations of this year has increased 20% as compared with the same time last year.
Consul General of the Republic of France in HCMC, Mr. Vincent Floreani, said that “I especially thank HCMC Authorities for the support as always and for approving 3 very important French projects: French Medical Group & Centre Médical International - CMI whose humanitarian role is to help unfortunate children to have their operations at HCMC Heart Institution; the French House whose purpose is to enhance collaborations in economics, university opportunities, education and culture; the expansion of French International School Marguerite Duras which helps meet the rising needs of the French, the international communities as well as of the Vietnamese”.
Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee, Mr. Trần Vĩnh Tuyến emphasized that France and Vietnam have great cooperations in the areas of culture, education and training. HCMC highly appreciates the projects like the French House, French Medical Group and considers them as cultural&knowledge centers which can contribute for HCMC to reach its goals of becoming a smart, modern and friendly city.
“President of France, Mr. Emmanuel Macron has signed a joint statement which commits to collaborations and starts a promising era for the strategic partnership between Vietnam and France. The French President will have his work visit to Vietnam at the end of this year. HCMC and Lyon have been having 20 years of collaborations, working on many projects: the Fine-art Light project, contributing to increasing the value of the architectural heritage and beauty of HCMC; the lighting project for the headquarter of HCMC People's Committee, the City Theater and very soon the Museum of Fine Arts”, stated Mr. Trần Vĩnh Tuyến.
