Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee Nguyễn Thiện Nhân meeting with Saint Petersburg (Russia) Governor G. Paltavchenko

In the frame of his work visit to Russia, on the afternoon of May 17th, in Saint Petersburg (Russian Federation), Member of Vietnamese PolitBuro, Secretary of HCMC Party’s Committee, Leader of the Delegation of National Assembly in HCMC Nguyễn Thiện Nhân had a meeting with Mr. G. Paltavchenko, Governor of Saint Petersburg.
At the meeting, Saint Petersburg Governor - Mr. G. Paltavchenko expressed his happiness as welcoming HCMC Delegation to Russia to attend the commemoration of 95 years since President Hồ Chí Minh first arrived in Petrograd – now Saint Petersburg, Russia. Mr. G. Paltavchenko stated that the people of both countries Russia and Vietnam really appreciate the value of Victory, Peace as well as Loss from wars. The two countries Russia and Vietnam share the same  principle when it comes to dealing with sovereignty matters, prioritizing Peace solution, in compliance with following international laws.
After a few years now, the relationship between the two countries has been upgraded to Comprehensive Strategic Partners. The Governor stressed that the political relationship at Nations’ level plays an important role, nonetheless that at Localities’ level acts a crucial part. Therefore, in the coming future, the strategic relationship between Saint Petersburg and HCMC needs be better facilitated in order to improve further. The Government and people of Saint Petersburg hope to enhance the cooperation relationship with Vietnam in general and with HCMC in particular.
