FOSCO Leaders attended the 27th anniversary of the Day of German Unity

On the evening of October 3rd 2017, FOSCO delegation led by Mr. Ngo Anh Tuan, Chairman of FOSCO Board of Members and Mr. Nguyen Tuong Minh, General Director attended and extended congratulations to the celebration of the 27th anniversary of the Day of German Unity (October 3rd 1990 - October 3rd 2017) organized by Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany to Ho Chi Minh City.
Giving the opening remarks, Mr. Andreas Siegel, Consul General of Germany to HCMC stated that: the anniversary of the Day of German Unity reminded us about the determination of the German people as removing the wall that separated their country, uniting the two parts of the country as well as with their neighbor countries and all around the world, rebuilding the image of Germany as a country of ideas, of freedom, of creativity, of business spirit and high quality technology.
The German government always keeps its positive foreign policy as joining the trading activities with the world, continues to promote international free-trade, supports the multilateral solution to global issues, respects the international laws and regulations.
Mr. Andreas Siegel emphasized that since establishing the diplomatic relationship between Germany and Vietnam there have been many strong growth steps in the fields of politics, economics, culture, science and education... On the firm foundation of cooperation over the past 42 years, the two countries have the basis to enhance the bilateral relationship and together overcome difficulties, upgrading the economic and politic relations as well as having the beneficial dialogue for developing the societies
Expressing many congratulations to the anniversary of the Day of German Unity, Mr. Huynh Cach Mang, Deputy Chairman of HCMC People’s Committee stressed that: Since the Senior Leaders of the two countries signed the Hanoi Joint Statement on setting up a strategic partnership in 2011, the relationship between the two countries have had comprehensive, wide and deep growth steps on all aspects and HCMC is proud to be part of the good development in the bilateral relations between Vietnam and Germany.
The City Leader said that with the strong determination of the two countries, on the firm friendship foundation and huge cooperation potentials between the two countries, Vietnam and Germany will overcome difficulties, establish steady and long-lasting development, for the benefits of the peoples of both.
Over the past years, HCMC and some German localities have exchanged business delegations, developing cooperation on many fields. HCMC is the destination of many important implementations of the joint projects between Vietnam and Germany such as the German House, the Subway number 2...
Germany is the 6th biggest out of 200 HCMC’s trading partners and the biggest one out of the European Union countries with the bilateral trade reaching USD1.93 billion in 2016. Germany is the 4th biggest investor out of 92 countries and territories who have investment in HCMC.
