FOSCO Leader extends congratulations to the 29th anniversary of the founding of HCMC Union of Friendship Organisations

On July 28^th 2018, Mr. Lương Thanh Điền, Member of FOSCO Board of Members represented the Leaders and the company to attend and give congratulations to the 29^th anniversary of the founding of HCMC Union of Friendship Organisarions (July 29^th 1989 - 2018).

Coming to this event were many former HUFO Chairmen and staff, Members of the Standing Board of HUFO, Members of the Standing Board of many Friendship Associations, Leaders of different Departments, Bureaus,  Offices related to Foreign Affairs, and HCMC press.

Giving a speech at the Opening Ceremony, HUFO Chairman Huỳnh Minh Thiện stated that: over the past 29 years, HUFO has taken many steps towards transforming its internal & external, especially enhancing its capability in organizing social, political, cultural, economics-empowering events. Up to the present day, HUFO has developed 32 bilateral & multilateral associations and 150 units under, creating a firm base for people diplomacy activities in HCMC organising about 80 events annually.

Besides, HUFO has mobilized and received supports from more than 160 Foreign Non-governmental and International Organisations, with projects to help the unfortunate people living in the poor areas, medical, educational and social projects with USD 50 million per year.

Throughout the years, the people diplomacy activites have positively made new changes with better content and formality; HUFO’s external relations propaganda activities have contributed to tighten and enhance the good friendship between the local and foreign people, especially in creating a strong international support for Vietnam on the South China Sea problem. Additionally, people diplomacy, together with the Party and the State’s diplomacy, has made a united alliance to successfully implement the Party and the State’s external relations strategies and policies, helping build consolidation among  the local people and those from other countries in the region and over the world.

On this occasion, HCMC People’s Committee gave out Certificate of Compliments to 10 groups and 12 individuals; Vietnam’s Union of Friendship Organisations gave out Certificate of Compliments to 2 groups and 2 individuals; and HUFO gave out Certificate of Compliments to 47 groups and 83 individuals who have contributed greatly for the people diplomacy.
