On the morning of January 7th 2018, FOSCO Deputy General Director Hồ Trọng Trí attended and gave flowers to The Painting Contest to congratulate 45 years of diplomatic relationship between Vietnam and Singapore (1973 - 2018).
The Contest was organised by HUFO in collaboration with the Friendship Association of Vietnam and Singapore in HCMC, Consulate General of Singapore in HCMC and the Library of General Science.
Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Madam Phan Thị Hồng Xuân - Deputy Chairwoman of the Friendship Association of Vietnam and Singapore in HCMC said: the artworks from these young artists indicate how strong and bonding the relationship between the two peoples is and it is this young generation in the future who will continue building and enhancing the beautiful values that the two countries Vietnam and Singapore have nurtured over the past 45 years.
Also giving a speech at the ceremony, Madam Leow Siu Lin - Consul General of Singapore emphasized the meaning of this Painting Contest: Painting is one way to express many different aspects of life like culture, dreams, freedom, creativity. Through this painting contest, it is shown the diplomatic bond and the good friendship between the people of the two countries.
The contest was only 2 hours long yet attracted more than 100 children of various age from 6 to 15 to come join and they were devided into two groups: Elementary and Secondary. The judges finally chose and gave prizes to 2 First places, 4 Second places, 6 Third places and 8 Complimentaries. Besides, all children who participated in the contest were given a Certificate of Attendance and a souvenir gift.
