FOSCO Family Day organized to celebrate the 38th Anniversary of FOSCO (July 9th 1979 - July 9th 2017)

On the afternoon of July 6th 2017, at FOSCO Headquarter 124 Nguyễn Đình Chiểu, Ward 6, District 3, FOSCO Family Day was organized to celebrate the 38th Anniversary of the founding of FOSCO (July 9th 1979 - July 9th 2017).
Founded on July 9th 1979 under Decision numbered 662/VP by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the original name of the company was “Service Company to Foreign Missions” and its original tasks were to provide services to Consular Corps in HCMC relating to their staying and working here. Today, FOSCO is a State-owned One-member Limited-liabilities Company with the tasks given “Fulfill political and security missions in foreign affairs; provide services to Consular Corps, International Organizations, Non-Governmental Organizations, Foreign Economic Representative Offices in 20 Cities/Provinces in the South of Vietnam from Bình Thuận to Cà Mau; help the government manage and guide foreign organizations so that they can follow well the Vietnamese rules and regulations; at the same time executing the foreign policy of the Vietnamese Government.”
Attending the event were Leaders of different Departments of HCMC, Party’s Committee of Business Sector, FOSCO’s partners, former FOSCO Leaders, retirees, current FOSCO Leaders and about 200 employees.  
Following the Vietnamese traditional morale of being appreciative “When drinking water, think of its source; When eating fruits, think of the planters”, the event started off with the ceremony to honor 18 families that have had 2 generations working for FOSCO, devoting to FOSCO, building its growth and strength over the past 38 years.
After the ceremony was the impressive and hearty speech by Mr. Ngô Anh Tuấn - Secretary of FOSCO Party’s Committee - Chairman of FOSCO Board of Members which shortly went through 38 years of building and developing of FOSCO, with periods and phases during some of which there were critical times and crises that FOSCO had to deal with but still with its strong will, passion and actions, FOSCO has maintained its image, its name and integrety as it was fulfilling the missions given by Ministry of Foreign Affairs and HCMC People’s Committee.
Every year FOSCO contributed to the government budget, meeting the targets assigned by HCMC People’s Committee, actively joined in many social and charity activities… Especially, FOSCO was honored by the Party and Government with “Labor Order III” in 2004, “Labor Order II” in 2009, and was rewarded with Compliment Certificate by HCMC People’s Committee, and Honor Flag by the Government.
The event concluded with many unforgettable moments for the guests, Leaders and staff of FOSCO, for instance, the moment when Mr. Nguyễn Tương Minh - General Director together with other Leaders said Happy Birthday and Congratulations to the 38th anniversary of FOSCO (July 9th 1979 - July 9th 2017). It was a very impressive, meaningful moment which showed the tight relationship, reponsibility, creativity and strong will of FOSCO Leaders and staff, the ones who all together have achieved greatly over the past 38 years in order to make FOSCO become a trustworthy company that is chosen to provide services to the consular corps, international organisations, foreign representative offices in HCMC and southern cities/provinces, contributing to the general foreign affairs in HCMC  and Vietnam in the era of globalization, integration and development.
